Halloween is also known as “All Saints” Eve, it is a celebration observed in several countries on 31 October, it is a feast of All Hallows’ Day. It begins with a three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including Saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed. Halloween parties are also a great opportunity to add more activity to the day.
Halloween’s Day was celebrated on the 31st October with a fun-filled exciting fancy dress parade at CMRNPS Pre-primary. The whole gallery was decorated with pumpkins, owls, hats and ghost cutouts, giving an air of spookiness for the occasion.
The celebrations started even before we all gathered, as students walked in, all excited to show off their best spooky Halloween outfit, all ready to dive right into the party and then move on to academics.
The Pre-primary students then assembled at the Monty gallery. We had Superheroes, Fairies, Witches, Goblins, Vampires and other interesting characters walking around. Excited faces were seen everywhere, as students posed for photographs. Students were introduced to what Halloween was, and how people in other countries celebrate it.
We then had a class-wise parade, where each of the students got to flaunt their attire and also speak a few lines about what they have dressed up as. The celebration ended with a treat for every student. Judges had a tough time selecting the best-dressed student. Students were finally shortlisted for the most authentic and apt costumes.
